Thursday at 11 a.m. a man observed another man drawing graffiti on a garbage bin downtown. He confronted the subject and told him to stop. The subject then threatened to stab the victim while reaching into his side pocket. The alleged victim then left the area and contacted the Guelph police for assistance.
At 12:51 p.m. police located the subject in the downtown core and he was subsequently arrested.
A search incident to arrested revealed:
- a stun gun
- brass knuckles
- various knives including a spring-loaded knife
- an extendable baton
- a small amount of methamphetamine
- a small amount of fentanyl
A 37-year-old Guelph man was charged with:
- mischief Under $5,000
- utter threat to cause death/bodily harm
- unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon x3
- possession of weapons for a dangerous purpose
- possession of a schedule I substance x2
He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
