A second-degree murder trial of a Guelph man will not be going ahead as planned next week.
James Dobbs, the man accused in a July 2022 death of a man in a Downtown Guelph apartment, will instead appear for a resolution and sentencing hearing on March 25 at Guelph Superior Court.
Nine days were originally set aside for his trial, including all of next week, and was to be heard by a judge alone.
Dobbs is also scheduled to enter pleas for other outstanding charges before the Ontario Court of Justice on March 21.
Guelph police said at the time of his arrest that officers were investigating reports of an alleged murder inside an apartment on July 11, 2022.
Officers then went to a location near Wellington Street East and Wyndham Street South two days later.
Officers located a man's body behind a business.
