More downtown businesses have internet and phone cables cut

Two days after 13 businesses had their cables cut, more are reporting the same to Guelph police

Police are looking to speak with this person in connection with a spree of wire cutting incidents in Downtown Guelph.

More downtown businesses have reported having their telephone and internet cables cut, Guelph police report.

Approximately 1:45 a.m. Friday, a resident near Quebec Street and Baker Street called to report someone had just cut their lines.The resident spoke to the owner of a business in the same building who confirmed their services were also disrupted.

Officers found cut cables on two other neighbouring stores as well.

On Wednesday morning, at least 13 businesses on Wyndham Street North reported their external cables damaged, affecting their ability to conduct business. That damage occurred approximately 5:30 a.m. Wednesday.
