A Guelph-Eramosa man is charged with impaired driving after crashing into scaffolding at a Guelph construction site early Thursday.
Approximately 4:40 a.m. police were called to Arthur Street North and Cross Street, where they found a pickup on the curb against some scaffolding and a male in the back seat. Officers opened the door and the male appeared confused and disoriented. He had a strong odour of alcohol on his breath.
He was arrested for impaired driving and transported to the police station, where tests confirmed he had more than twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system.
A 32-year-old man is charged with impaired operation. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for seven days. He will appear in court November 29.
