A Guelph man faces assault and weapons charges after a knife was pulled Monday on an employee of a downtown business.
Approximately 8:35 a.m. a man was inside a business from which he had previously been banned. When an employee asked him to leave, he removed a small knife from his pocket and began swinging it in the employee’s direction.
He then left the business and was located by police a short distance away and arrested. Investigation revealed the male is on several probation orders including weapons prohibitions.
A 28-year-old Guelph man is charged with carrying a concealed weapon, assault with a weapon, possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, uttering threats and 10 counts of breaching a probation order. He was held for a bail hearing.
