A Guelph teen learned a lesson about being careful what she posts online after an ill-advised ‘joke’ caught the eye of INTERPOL on Monday.
Approximately 5:35 p.m. Monday the Guelph Police Service was notified by INTERPOL of a Snapchat story which referenced a school shooting. Officers spoke to the teen in the presence of her mother and she was very remorseful and stated the comment was intended only as a joke.
Residents are reminded to be careful what they post online as their words can be misinterpreted and cause concern in the wider community.
