A Guelph man faces impaired and drug trafficking charges after he was found passed out in a vehicle Wednesday afternoon.
At 1:40 p.m. police were notified of a male in a vehicle in a parking lot at Wellington Street West and Imperial Road South. Officers arrived to find an unconscious male in the driver’s seat. In his lap officers observed medical tubing attached to a glass tube with a burnt end.
After banging on the window several times officers were able to wake the male, who showed signs of impairment. He was placed under arrest and later examined by a trained expert, who concluded he was impaired by a narcotic.
During a search of the vehicle officers located quantities of cocaine and crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia and a scale.
A 63-year-old Guelph male is charged with impaired operation and possessing cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
