Guelph police warn 'missing child' social media post is a scam

Post was made on social media, but police say the missing child situation did not happen

Guelph police say they are aware of a social media post circulating about a missing autistic child, but say the post is a scam and there is no such situation.

The fake post said the child is in danger and in need of immediate medication.

The post, on the Guelph Marketplace Facebook group, was posted a day ago and as of 1 p.m. Friday was still on the site.
