Several weapons-related charges for Guelph man

A Guelph man faces weapons charges after he was arrested Wednesday on an outstanding warrant.

Just before noon, members of the OPP’s Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Squad attended an address on Waterloo Avenue where they located a male wanted on charges including assault with a weapon. He was arrested and turned over to Guelph police.

During a search incident to arrest, officers located a spring-loaded knife in his pocket.

A 35-year-old Guelph man is further charged with carrying a concealed weapon, unauthorized possession of a weapon, two counts of failing to comply with a prohibition order and two counts of breaching probation. He was held for a bail hearing Thursday.
