A Guelph man is charged with break and enter after someone entered a model home, slept in the bed and left a wallet behind.
Saturday afternoon police were called to a model home in the south end. A local builder reported finding a window broken and a door ajar. Officers located blood on the broken window, and a trail of blood drops going inside the home where they found an empty beer can in the kitchen.
In a bedroom officers located a wallet on a nightstand. While officers were still investigating, they learned the owner of the wallet was being investigated for damaging a vehicle downtown by kicking it. Officers dealing with the man confirmed he had a fresh injury on his hand.
A 34-year-old Guelph man charged with break and enter, mischief under $5,000 and breaching a probation order. He was held for a bail hearing Monday.
