A Guelph man is charged with impaired driving following a traffic stop Wednesday afternoon, Guelph police report.
Shortly before 6 p.m. an officer observed a vehicle leaving a licensed establishment near the downtown. The vehicle was followed and pulled over on Morris Street.
The officer immediately detected an odour of alcohol from within the vehicle. After failing a roadside breath test the driver was arrested and transported to the police station, where further tests confirmed he had more than the legal amount of alcohol in his system.
A 63-year-old Guelph man is charged with impaired driving.
