Charge laid in Tuesday incident where pedestrian seriously injured by vehicle

Pedestrian was airlifted to an out-of-town trauma centre; no update on her condition

On Tuesday at approximately 8:25 AM, police were dispatched to Edinburgh Road, just North of Manor Park Crescent, in response to a female party being stuck by a motor vehicle.

A 23-year-old female was struck by a motor vehicle while crossing at the pedestrian crossover. The female was airlifted to St Micheals Hospital in Toronto to receive treatment for her injuries sustained in the accident.

After a thorough investigation and reconstruction of the accident scene, a 37-year-old male was charged with Careless Driving Cause Bodily Harm, under the Highway Traffic Act.
