SARNIA – The Guelph Storm's hope of making the playoffs took another hit Sunday with a 3-1 loss to the Sarnia Sting.
The last place Storm is six points out of the playoff spots, but on Sunday lost one of the games they had in hand over the team's they are trying to catch.
Sarnia took advantage of a couple of defensive mistakes to score the winning and insurance goals, one an ill-timed attempt to intercept a Sarnia pass, the other a sloppy cross-ice pass behind a teammate that sent Sarnia the other way for the insurance goal off the rush.
Charlie Paquette had Guelph's goal, his 30th of the season.
Guelph hit three posts in the game and went scoreless on three power play attempts.
Zach Jovanovski made 26 saves in the Storm net.
Guelph hosts Sarnia on Friday.
