Guelph Storm parts ways with pair of former high draft picks

The Guelph Storm has trimmed its roster, releasing two former high draft picks.

Nick Deakin-Poot and Liam Stevens both cleared waivers and have been released.

Both players are heading to the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League for tryouts – Deakin-Poot in Saint John and Stevens in Chicoutimi.

Stevens was the team’s second round pick in the 2015 draft, 27th overall. He scored 15 goals in 131 games with the Storm.

Deakin-Poot was taken in the third round of the 2015 draft, 54th overall. He had 10 goals in 112 career games with the Storm.
