The Guelph Storm acquired a pair of overage players from the Sarnia Sting on Friday.
Coming to Guelph are overage forward Brayden Guy and overage defenceman Ashton Reesor. Heading to Sarnia is forward Marko Sikic and a third round draft pick in 2022 (originally Flint's).
Guy is a six-foot, 190-pound winger who was originally a third round pick of the Sting in 2017. He has six goals and five assists in 21 games this season. In 2020-2021 he had 16 goals and 23 assists in 59 games.
Reesor, six-foot-four, 205 pounds, has a goal and eight assists in 23 games this season. He was a fifth round pick of the Sting in 2017.
Sikic, 17, was a third round pick of the Storm in 2019. This season he had five goals and six assists in 27 games.
“A veteran power forward that works and competes on a very high level, Brayden has shown the ability to score and play the game successfully in a number of different ways," Storm coach/GM George Burnett said. "The leader and captain of his team, he will provide a great example to our young group.
“Also a leader with his team, Ashton brings an excellent combination of size, physicality, ability to move the puck, and effectively play against top players throughout the league,” said Burnett.
Guelph had a pair of overage spots on its roster. Guy and Reesor join former Sting teammate Cameron Supryka as Guelph's three overagers, with Supryka having been acquired earlier this season.
The OHL trade deadline for overage players was at noon Friday. The regular trade deadline is noon Monday.
Guelph's next game is scheduled for Thursday in Windsor.
