OTTAWA – The Carleton Ravens scored two touchdowns in the final 59 seconds of the game to pull of a miraculous 29-27 victory over the Guelph Gryphons Saturday afternoon in Ottawa.
The loss saw Guelph finish in eighth place in the OUA standings with a 3-5 record.
Guelph had taken a 27-14 lead with 2:14 left in regulation on a three-yard run by quarterback Marshall McCray.
But the Gryphon defence allowed Carletion quarterback Tristan Lefebvre to do the one thing that could still beat them: throw several deep bombs over their heads, resulting in drives of 74 and 101 yeards to pull out the win. There was also a conceded rouge in there.
The winning touchdown, a 50-yard pass to Frederik Hachey, came with 12 seconds on the clock.
McCray, Donavin Milloy and Mason Duvall had rushing touchdowns for Guelph.
