The Wellington Catholic District School Board raised nearly $30,000 for local organizations through its annual Bishop’s Dinner for Community Needs.
The organizations receiving the money are: Centre Wellington Food Bank, Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington, Canadian Mental Health Association, and St. Vincent de Paul Society of Guelph and Wellington County.
“It’s truly inspiring to witness the outpouring of community support from our Wellington Catholic family and beyond,” said Marino Gazzola, chair of the WCDSB, in a press release.
This was the 22nd Bishop’s Dinner and to date it’s raised almost $850,000. It was hosted at the Italian Canadian Club on Oct. 10 with over 300 people in attendance.
“Thank you to the many contributors and participants to this annual event,” said Michael Glazier, director of education for WCDSB, in the release. “We look forward to celebrating the Bishop’s Dinner next fall and continuing to build on the strong legacy of support on issues that impact our families and our community.”
