Big Brothers Big Sisters Guelph has named Kegan Harris as its new executive director.
Harris is a leader in the non-profit sector with more than a decade of experience in organizational operations and has “led transformative initiatives that have impacted vulnerable communities and people experiencing homelessness,” a press release states.
“After a lengthy executive search, we are confident that Kegan will help our organization evolve and thrive to meet the growing demands of the rapidly changing Guelph community,” said Rich Moccia, president and board chair of the local association in a press release.
“He will build on our strong reputation for quality service delivery to the youth in our community,” he said.
Harris holds a masters in social work, social justice and diversity, and has worked in several non-profit roles, including housing manager for Toronto-based non-profit, and director of housing for TNG Community Services in Toronto, where he helped secure new affordable housing units using new and innovative models.
“Big Brothers Big Sisters Guelph is an extraordinary organization with a sterling reputation of helping the people in our community who need it most,” Harris said in the release.
“I am honoured to step into this role where I can continue the vital work of the organization and find ways to expand on the incredible community contributions of our staff and volunteers.”
