Terra View Homes, a Guelph home builder set to provide 252 meals for frontline healthcare workers at Guelph General Hospital (GGH) and to residents at Wyndham House.
The meals will be matched by The Foundation of Guelph General Hospital so now there will be 450 meals served on Christmas Eve and Christmas.
“This contribution from Terra View Homes reminds us all that the dedicated team at GGH works around the clock to provide care to our community, and that includes Christmas Eve and Christmas Day,” said Julie Byczynski, CEO of The Foundation of Guelph General Hospital, in a press release.
“Partnering with Terra View to provide a special holiday meal for staff is one example of what makes Guelph so amazing. Together, we are making a healthier community for everyone,” she continued.
On Christmas Terra View will deliver meals to three Wyndham House locations. Wyndham House aims to provide youth ages 16 to 25 who are at risk of homelessness with support.
The press release noted there has been a surge of use of the emergency shelters.
“The holiday season presents an impactful opportunity to show those in our community that we care. Our hope is that this sentiment is felt by all and that these meals bring even a small moment of joy to members of our community this Christmas,” said Andrew Lambden, founder and CEO of Terra View Homes, in the release.
“Without the life-saving care of our hospital staff and the critical services being offered by Wyndham House to local youth — we would deeply feel the impact, as individuals, as friends, as family members and as a community – especially at this time of year,” said Lambden.
