The Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Showcase is coming to the Guelph Farmers’ Market to show people how they can support local farmers.
The showcase is Feb. 27 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Guelph Farmers’ Market and is free to attend.
The event is for people to learn more about farms and farm products in Guelph and Wellington County.
CSA is a fresh produce subscription service where people can get local ingredients and farm products from local farmers in one box. The goal is to provide financial stability to local farms and to have seasonal food on people's tables while keeping money in the community. It aims to promote food security, sustainability and transparency by giving people a direct connection to where and how their food is grown.
Here are the farms with offerings through CSA:
- Backyard Roots and Shoots
- Cedar Down Farm
- Corwhin Herbs & Produce
- Duurzame Farms
- Green Hart Farms
- Parker Family Farm
- Piccolo Farm Organics
- River Run Farm
- Wicked Welly Farm & Apiary
