Liberal Lloyd Longfield to seek reelection as Guelph's MP

Longfield was elected as the member of parliament for Guelph in 2015, collecting just over 49 per cent of the vote

Now that the provincial and municipal elections are behind us, plans are underway for the 2019 federal election.

Lloyd Longfield, who is the current member of parliament for Guelph, will seek reelection under the Liberal Party of Canada banner.

His intention to run once again was announced in a press release from the Guelph Federal Liberal Association.

A celebration will be held by the GFLA on Nov. 15 at the Italian Canadian Club of Guelph at 6:30 p.m.

“I appreciate all the help and input I have received over the past four years, and look forward to continuing to build our team in Guelph as we head into 2019,” Longfield said in the release.

Longfield was elected as the member of parliament for Guelph in 2015, collecting just over 49 per cent of the vote.

For about eight yers previous to the 2016 election, Longfield was president of the Guelph Chamber of Commerce.
