GuelphToday readers and local businesses contribute $10,250 and 15 grocery gift cards to the Guelph Food Bank. Carolyn McLeod-McCarthy, Managing Director, and Pauline Cripps, Administrator, gratefully accept the donation / GuelphToday

Last week, GuelphToday asked you, our loyal readers, to join us in supporting the Guelph Food Bank this festive season - and your response was nothing short of extraordinary.

During the holidays, an increased number of people are reliant on our local food bank. This increased need means that the Guelph Food Bank needs our support more than ever.

GuelphToday brought our whole community together to help provide that support.

We partnered with Market Fresh to offer gift cards for purchase through an online pop-up store.

GuelphToday and generous local businesses pledged to match every purchase made through the online store, meaning that every purchase was matched 24 times!

Together, we raised an incredible $10,250 for the Guelph Food Bank and delivered 15 grocery gift cards, helping to support those who need it most over the holiday season. Thank you!

Special thanks to Market Fresh for donating the gift cards for this initiative, and to the following businesses who have joined us in matching each donation: East Side Mario, Joe Migliaccio - Desjardins Insurance, Conestoga College, Wrinkly Bear Brewing Company, Stone Accounting, Assante Financial Management, Original Home Furniture, TNT Boxing Academy, Right at Home Canada-Guelph Wellington, Parada Dentures, Kirtida Kitchen, Oosterveld Heating & Air Conditioning, Kiwanis Club of Guelph, Anthony Homes, Macho Movers, Guelph Family Martial Arts, COBS Bread Bakery Clair Marketplace and COBS Bread Bakery West Hills Centre, Auto Clinic, NV Kitchen + Bar, The Bookshelf, Guelph Montessori School, Making Waves Swim School Guelph and Dettmer Tires.

If you didn't get a chance to participate in this program, we encourage you to send your donation directly to the local food bank. You can donate online or call (519-767-1380) to arrange a donation, or click here for more information on how to give back.
