A Guelph man faces several charges after a female reported having a handgun pointed at her during an apparent road rage incident Friday, Guelph police report.
The complainant called police approximately 5:15 p.m. She said she had driven through a plaza parking lot at Victoria Road North and Eramosa Road and was followed by another vehicle. The male driver of the second vehicle reportedly pulled beside her, uttered a threat and then pointed a black handgun at her.
The victim was able to note the licence plate and a description of the male. Officers attended an address in the north end and observed the vehicle in the driveway. Officers spoke to a male and recovered a BB gun which was inside his jacket and a second BB gun from a satchel he was wearing.
A further search of the satchel revealed a lock-picking kit, a balaclava and gloves.
A 24-year-old Guelph male is charged with assault with a weapon, possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, pointing a firearm, use an imitation firearm while committing an offence, uttering threats and possessing break-in instruments.
