PALMERSTON – Inpatient visiting is being restricted at Palmerston and District Hospital (PDH) after a declared COVID-19 outbreak.
A press release from North Wellington Health Care stated two inpatients and five staff have tested positive for COVID.
“There is currently no inpatient visiting permitted at the hospital apart from very limited, special circumstances,” the press release stated.
PDH’s emergency department, diagnostic imaging, ambulatory care and day surgery not requiring hospital admission services remain open.
Masks are required while in the hospital.
The hospital is working with public health to respond to the outbreak.
