HOPE HOUSE

Hope House’s annual Coldest Night of the Year fundraising walk is back, and this year, we’ve grown to two locations!
The Coldest Night of the Year is a family-friendly walk to raise much-needed funds for charities serving people experiencing hurt, hunger and homelessness. There are Coldest Night events held across Canada, the US and the UK. The official date is set for February 22, 2025.
Guelph’s Coldest Night walk has grown over the years, so that we now need 2 locations! Those who wish to walk 2 km meet at John F. Ross High School at 1:00pm and start walking at 2:00pm.
Those who wish to walk 5 km meet at GCVI at 4:00pm and begin walking at 5:00pm. Both groups will still enjoy a warm meal upon their return! Shuttle services between Hope House and both high schools will be available.
At both GCVI and John F. Ross High Schools, a group of committed community-focused students have organized two fantastic opening ceremonies! “We are thrilled that we have grown and that we have partnered with both of these great schools for the important work of alleviating hurt, hunger and homelessness.,” notes Sean Yo, Coldest Night Campaign Co-Chair.
Adults who raise $150 and youth who raise $75 will also get a CNOY toque!
“We know that the need in our community has never been greater, and we’re hoping that our community will show up once again to help us reach our fundraising goal of $210,000,” adds Jaya James, Executive Director of Hope House.
Coldest Night is still recruiting Team Captains to gather a group together (co-workers, family, friends) to walk in support of Hope House. Walkers can also register on their own. And if walking isn’t an option for you, donations are more than welcome.
