Long time Guelph lawyer Aldo Braida was presented with a prestigious Law Society of Ontario Medal on May 22 in a special ceremony at Osgoode Hall in Toronto. 

Mr. Braida was one of eight recipients of the award given for outstanding service within the profession. Nominated by Wellington Law Association President David Cameletti, Mr. Braida has been a lawyer since 1955 and has maintained offices in Guelph and Acton for over 62 years.

Mr. Braida was the first Italian speaking lawyer in Guelph and has served the Italian speaking population of the city for decades. He has been very active in volunteering his time in community affairs in both communities particularly with respect to projects for veterans, seniors, and palliative care patients.

When asked what the award means to him, Mr. Braida indicated that it was important to him that a lifetime of work in his profession was being recognized by his peers.
