Community Builders Awards: Dan Evans is a true Unsung Hero

Through quiet leadership and tireless work, Dan has been instrumental in bringing together neighbourhood groups and residents as a collective voice for positive change across Guelph

Dan Evans is a true community champion here in Guelph.

In his role at the Guelph Neighbourhood Support Coalition, a network of neighbouring groups, sponsoring agencies and program partners who operate to meet the needs of youth, children and families locally, Dan has proven himself to be a dedicated leader with an unwavering passion for positive change in our community.

One of Dan's most significant contributions lies in his commitment to tackling food security in the city, particularly for vulnerable children.

The North End Harvest Market, an initiative close to his heart, has played a pivotal role in ensuring the health and well-being of thousands of community members. Through strategic partnerships with the Guelph Food Bank, Our Food Future Guelph Wellington and other food providers, Dan has helped to reduce the barriers many face when it comes to food.

Known for going above and beyond the call of duty, Dan's efforts have had a profound impact on the growth and well-being of community programming in Guelph.

His ability to build relationships, forge connections, and secure vital resources has transformed the landscape of the city, creating a more caring and cohesive community.

This award is presented to an individual or group whose tireless work and/or volunteer efforts in our community seek to improve the lives of others.

Congratulations, Dan!

This award is proudly sponsored by Sleeman Breweries.
