Our mission at GuelphToday is to strengthen the communities we serve and in that spirit, we are spearheading an online fundraiser in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters.
As Big Brothers Big Sisters staff and volunteers see first-hand, many families in our community are living with complex challenges stemming from systemic injustice and structural inequality. Children in these families are more prone to facing adversity which could negatively impact their academic, social and economic well-being.
This is one of the reasons mentorship programs like those provided by Big Brothers Big Sisters are crucial for youth development and with summer approaching, the organization needs support to make these programs possible.
In response to that need, we at GuelphToday are spearheading a fundraiser to support Big Brothers Big Sisters.
But that’s not all.
We know that Guelph is full of caring individuals and businesses who would generously donate to this initiative as well. So, we contacted a number of local businesses to see if they would also like to match reader contributions with a cash donation.
As a result, for every $25 donation made in our pop-up store from now until May 19 at 12 p.m., each dollar will be matched 17 times and all proceeds will go directly to Big Brothers Big Sisters.
That means your $25 donation will turn into a $450 donation!
Here is how you can help us give local youth the best summer ever:
- Log in to your GuelphToday account (or register for free).
- Select the Big Brothers Big Sisters logo to donate and enter your credit card details.
- Check the 'Confirm’ button and click ‘Donate’ to confirm your purchase.
- That's it, you did it! You gave back to local youth with the click of a button!
Thanks to Anthony Homes, ArtMED Cosmetic Medicine, Aido Climate, Atilola Real Estate, Auto Clinic Guelph, Billyard Insurance, Dixon’s Distilled Spirits, East Side Mario’s, Flying Dutchman Cleaning, Hartmann Windows & Doors, McKenzie Lake Lawyers, Meridian Credit Union, OnPurpose TRANSFORMATIONS, Parada Dentures, Play with Clay and Right at Home Canada who have joined us in matching each donation.
GuelphToday is proud to lead this worthwhile cause in an effort to help empower local children to reach their full potential with this match program, a foundational piece of our GuelphToday Cares program.
The GuelphToday Cares team's mission is to create meaningful change in Guelph - and inspire others to do the same.
Programs like this and support from businesses and community members - like you - help us to give back to Guelph.
