UPDATE One dead another seriously injured in Cambridge shooting

Heavy police presence on Lena Cresent following shooting that left a 40-year old man dead

A shooting in the area of Lena Crescent and Pamela Lane, near Cambridge Centre Mall, is under investigation by police tonight.

Over 20 officers including a canine unit searched the townhouse complex, checking under cars and backyards for suspects involved in the shooting.

At approximately 8:35 p.m., police responded to reports of a shooting incident in the area of Lena Crescent and Pamela Lane.

Upon arrival, police located a deceased 40-year-old man with gunshot wounds.

Another victim, a 31-year-old Cambridge male, was located outside the residence with a gunshot wound and transported to a local hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries.

Investigators believe this was a targeted incident.

Police currently are looking for the suspects involved.

Residents can expect a heavy police presence and should avoid the area.

WRPS information officer Chris Iden told CambridgeToday that "the investigation is still early and details are being obtained."

Police are asking that anyone with information to contact police immediately.
