PUSLINCH — The township has proposed a 4.1 per cent tax increase in its 2025 budget.

Presented at a Puslinch council meeting Wednesday afternoon, township staff said the proposed increase will mean an annual increase of $52 for a median single-family home assessed at $661,000.

Blended with the county's portion of the tax bill, this would represent a 3.42 per cent increase and $234 for a median family home.

The 2025 budget is currently proposed to be $5,672,143, with $4,236,333 allocated towards operating and $1,435,809 for capital. The budget has increased by $313,222 compared to 2024.

In the budget, staff said new assessment growth was weighted at 1.67 per cent or $46.9 million and without it, the proposed 2025 budget would have an increase of 5.84 per cent and $74 for the median assessed home.

Capital projects highlighted within the budget include upgrades to sections of Leslie Road West, Gore Road and Winer Road, municipal office upgrades and rinkboard replacements at the Optimist Recreation Centre (ORC).

The township approved a 4.1 per cent increase in 2024.

Residents can share their thoughts on the proposed figures at a public budget meeting on Jan. 22 at 7 pm in-person at the Puslinch Community Centre or online.
