FERGUS – Outdoor fitness equipment will be coming to Forfar Park in Fergus after Centre Wellington Remedy’s RX donated $15,000.
In a press release, mayor Kelly Linton expressed his gratitude for the donation.
“This will provide our residents with an additional opportunity to maintain their healthy lifestyles and create a safe and active common space for the community,” Linton said.
Forfar Park is a three-acre lot of land along Gartshore Street and the Elora Cataract Trail. The press release said this made the location ideal for outdoor fitness equipment.
“We are happy to support our community to live healthier while enjoying the great outdoors,” said Rachel Luther, pharmacist owner, in a press release. “This partnership with the township allows us to give back to a community that has given us so much support over the years.”
Plans for the park include a shade structure, junior soccer field, playground with seating and a new asphalt path connecting to Forfar Street East.
Council allocated $275,000 from the 2020 budget and forecasts another $65,000 in 2021 to refurbish the park.
