Make Puslinch Lake access for pedestrians only, recommends staff report

The new report also includes an updated design concept for the space

PUSLINCH ‒  Staff have recommended that public access at Puslinch Lake be limited to pedestrian-only traffic in a new report coming to council Wednesday morning.

Township staff have been working on creating public access at Travelled Road near Holly Trail since McClintock’s Trailer Resort and Ski School restricted access to its beach and boat launch to guests and customers in July 2020.

"Parking cannot be accommodated on Travelled Road as it's signed as a fire route," said staff in the report. "In addition, Travelled Road is a public road, the adjacent roads are private and, therefore public parking cannot be accommodated."

The new report also included an updated design concept for the space that includes a two to three-meter wide compacted granular trail, an accessible concrete bench pad, post and rail fence as well as decorative armourstone boulders and a small flower garden.

However, the new designs fail to account for residents' requests for a small boat launch and appropriate signage.

Council will need to approve the design concept to commence construction in the fall.
