Guelph police are investigating after a break-in at a vacant nursing home this week.

Just before 9 a.m. Wednesday, police say they were called to an address near Metcalfe Street and Speedvale Avenue East after the owner arrived and discovered damage inside.

Investigation revealed unknown suspects had entered the building sometime overnight by prying open a door leading to the basement. Several interior doors were also damaged and security cameras either damaged or removed entirely. A quantity of cash was stolen from a safe in the office area.
