A third person charged in the wake of a Guelph man’s death a year ago has been sentenced.

Lindsay Zinger was given a suspended sentence and is out of jail on a three-year probation term. This, after pleading guilty to accessory after the fact to committing an indignity to a human body on Friday at the Ontario Court of Justice.

Zinger, 48, had been released on bail over the summer, and had to wear an ankle bracelet.

She did not have a prior criminal record and was given credit for 240 days of pre-sentence custody.

Details of the case are protected under a publication ban.

Co-accused Christopher Hanley and Darcy McGee were previously released from custody after pleading guilty to committing an indignity to a human body.

Both of them were handed 18-month prison sentences, but were released after being credited for time served in pre-sentence custody. Both Hanley and McGee are on probation.

Jason Richardson is the lone person charged in the case whose matter is still before the court. He is scheduled to enter a plea on Oct. 29.

This follows the investigation into the Oct. 2023 death of a man police have only identified as ‘Kenny.’

The investigation began last October after a body was discovered outside the city. It was later identified as the 45-year-old, who had been reported missing.

A Guelph Street home was at the centre of a lengthy search by police.

McGee, Hanley, Richardson and Zinger were each charged with accessory after the fact murder in early November.

In July, McGee, Hanley and Richardson were charged with committing an indignity to a dead body. At the same time, Zinger was charged with accessory after the fact to the same charge.
