A Guelph teenager faces several charges after a replica Glock firearm was used to threaten another youth Friday, say Guelph police.
Just before 5:30 p.m., police were called to College Avenue West. A 13-year-old male called 911 to report he was involved in a verbal altercation with an older teen. The older boy pulled up his shirt to reveal a black handgun tucked in his waistband and told the younger boy to run.
The suspect was located in the area and arrested. During a search incident to arrest officers located a replica Glock very similar to police-issued firearms.
A 17-year-old is charged with assault with a weapon, possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon and possessing a weapon contrary to a prohibition order. He was held for a bail hearing Monday.
