A Guelph man faces an impaired driving charge after his speeding caught the attention of police Saturday afternoon.
Approximately 4:20 p.m. police were patrolling on Clair Road West near Beaver Meadow Drive when he clocked an Audi travelling 81 km/h in a 50 km/h zone.
While speaking to the driver the officer detected an odour of alcohol on his breath. After failing a roadside breath test the man was arrested and transported to the police station, where further testing confirmed he had more than the legal amount of alcohol in his system.
A 28-year-old Guelph man is charged with impaired driving and speeding.
