On May 4, 2018 at approximately 11:30 p.m. while on routine patrol, Guelph police officers observed a grey Toyota Corolla that was confirmed to be stolen. Police attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle in the area of Cassino Avenue and William Street, however, the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed.

Due to the fact that this is a residential area with small side streets, police felt there was a danger to the public if they were to pursue, thus let the vehicle go. The vehicle was last seen going northbound on Victoria Road North.

The driver was identified as a male and he was the only occupant. Anyone who may have information about this incident is asked to contact Cst. J. Hall at 519-824-1212 at ext. 7136. Anonymous tips can be left at Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or submitted online.
