Police arrested a Guelph man early Tuesday morning in connection with a break-in at a commercial property near the Scottsdale/Stone Road intersection.
Guelph police report that at 5:02 a.m., they were contacted regarding a break and enter in progress at a commercial property. A man had entered the underground parking garage of the property and was accessing the building through the elevators.
Police arrived on scene and at 5:13 a.m. and observed a man flee the building on foot.
At 5:14 a.m., the male was arrested a short distance away.
A search incident to arrest revealed the man had break and enter tools including a lock picking set and wire cutters and mail not in the male’s name.
A 29-year-old has been charged with:
- Break, enter a place with intent to commit indictable offence
- Possession of break-in instruments
- Possession of property obtained by crime
- Breach probation
He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
