Two Guelph men face impaired driving charges following separate incidents Monday night, report Guelph police.
Just after 9 p.m. police received several calls about a possible impaired driver coming into Guelph. Officers located the vehicle and pulled it over, noting an odour of alcohol on the driver’s breath.
He was arrested and transported to the police station, where tests confirmed he had more than the legal amount of alcohol in his system. A 38-year-old Guelph man is charged with impaired driving.
Just after 11 p.m., police located a male in a running vehicle near York Road and Stevenson Street South. Officers spoke to the male and observed an odour of alcohol on his breath and signs of impairment, as well as open alcohol inside the vehicle.
He was arrested and transported to the police station, where tests indicated he had nearly three times the legal amount of alcohol in his system. While speaking to a duty counsel lawyer in a private room, the man urinated on the floor.
A 52-year-old Guelph man is charged with impaired operation and mischief under $5,000.
