A Guelph male wanted for drug and weapons charges was arrested early Friday.
Guelph police on patrol about 1:25 a.m. saw a male they knew to be wanted walking up the driveway of a home in the area of Guelph Street and Willow Road.
The male was wanted in connection with an incident in March in which several people fled a vehicle in a parking lot on Woolwich Street near Speedvale Avenue West. A search of the vehicle uncovered $4,000 worth of cocaine, $880 worth of crystal methamphetamine, three conducted energy weapons, a pellet pistol and drug trafficking supplies.
He was arrested Friday morning on the outstanding warrant. A search of his person subsequent to arrest uncovered small amounts of crystal methamphetamine and fentanyl.
A 25-year-old Guelph male is charged with three counts of possessing controlled substances for the purpose of trafficking, two counts of possessing controlled substances, three counts of possessing a prohibited weapon, three counts of possessing a weapon contrary to a prohibition order and four counts of breaching probation. He was held for a bail hearing Friday.
