Minor injuries for pedestrian struck by vehicle

A pedestrian escaped with minor injuries when hit by a pickup truck turning at an intersection Tuesday, Guelph police report.

Approximately 3:20 p.m. a man was crossing Imperial Road North at Woodlawn Road West when he was struck by a pickup truck turning left. He sustained a minor injury but did not require medical treatment.

A 57-year-old Mississauga man was charged with failing to yield to a pedestrian.

It was one of seven vehicle collisions police were called to Tuesday.

Approximately one hour later, officers were called to the intersection of Eramosa Road and Metcalfe Street for reports of a vehicle which had been driving on the wrong side of Eramosa before colliding with an unoccupied vehicle. It is believed the driver was experiencing a medical condition which caused him to lose control.
