A Guelph man is charged with impaired driving after he was caught passed out in a running vehicle early Tuesday.
Just after midnight police were called to a parking lot on Bagot Street after a witness observed a vehicle parked erratically and a male passed out in the driver’s seat. Officers arrived a short time later and found the male still asleep and the vehicle running.
Officers opened the door and woke the male, noting a strong odour of alcohol on his breath. He was unsteady on his feet and confused about what was going on.
The male was arrested and transported to the police station, where tests confirmed he had more than twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system.
A 48-year-old Guelph man is charged with impaired operation.
