Guelph driver charged with impaired after Fergus RIDE check

On Sept. 3, 2024, at approximately 10:30 p.m officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Wellington County Detachment were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Orangeville Road, Fergus.

During the operation, a vehicle was stopped, and the driver was assessed for sobriety. As a result of the investigation, [a 57-year-old] of Guelph, was charged with:

  • operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs contrary to the Criminal Code

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph, at a later date.
