Fergus man charged after not clearing snow off car

CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP - The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charges Fergus resident under the Highway Traffic Act.

On Thursday, at approximately 3:30 p.m., members of the Wellington County OPP Traffic Unit were performing a traffic enforcement initiative and conducted a traffic stop on St. David Street North within the Town of Fergus.

As a result of the investigation, a 55-year-old from Fergus is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:

  • No clear view to front
  • Improper windshield wiper

The accused was also given warnings under the Highway Traffic Act and the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act for:

  • No clear view to rear
  • Fail to have insurance card

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Provincial Offences Court - Guelph at a later date.
