A Kitchener woman faces impaired driving, drug and weapons charges after she was found Tuesday passed out in a vehicle in downtown Guelph, say police.
Just after 7:30 a.m. Guelph police were called for a suspicious vehicle parked near Woolwich Street and Suffolk Street East. A witness reported a woman passed out in the driver’s seat.
Officers arrived a short time later and found the woman still unconscious. They also observed medical tubing in her lap which was attached to a burned glass tube. They opened the door and saw a baggie of suspected crystal methamphetamine hanging out of her pocket.
She was arrested and transported to the police station, where a trained expert determined her ability to operate a vehicle was impaired by consumption of a narcotic.
A search of the vehicle revealed quantities of suspected crystal methamphetamine, cocaine and crack cocaine in separate baggies. Officers also found Dilaudid pills and fresh cannabis, as well as a scale, drug paraphernalia, a debt list, cash and a knife opened by centrifugal force.
A 49-year-old Kitchener woman is charged with impaired operation, two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possessing a controlled substance, possessing a prohibited weapon and disobeying a court order. She was held for a bail hearing.
