Convenience store robbed by knife-wielding man in Halloween costume

Guelph police are investigating after a south end convenience store was robbed early Monday.

Just after 6 a.m. police were called to a business near Gordon Street and Edinburgh Road South. The male clerk advised he was working when two males entered the store approximately 5:20 a.m. One of the males pulled out a large knife and ordered the clerk to sit on the floor while the second stole a quantity of cash and cigarettes. The clerk was not physically injured.

The first male was described as six feet tall with a stocky build and dark eyes. He was wearing a Halloween costume consisting of a black cape, white mask and gloves.

The second male was described as white, approximately 5’5” with a slim to medium build. He was wearing a black hoodie, black ski mask, black pants, black and grey running shoes, a black backpack and white gloves.
