GUELPH SPORTS HALL OF FAME

The Guelph Sports Hall of Fame Board of Directors is pleased to announce that triathlete Sasha Beck will be attending the 2024 Kiwanis Sports Celebrity Dinner and Induction Ceremony as a head table guest on Wednesday, May 15 at the Italian Canadian Club.
Beck is a seasoned triathlete deeply embedded in Canada's athlete development pathway. From her early days racing at the club level to representing Triathlon Ontario and Triathlon Canada on national and international stages, she has consistently excelled both in sports and academics. Graduating with a degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Guelph, where she also participated on the varsity swim team.
She will join PamAm Games Gold medallist Kiara Lylyk and award-winning sports columnist Steve Milton at the head table at the induction ceremony.
In 2014, she became a guide to Christine Robbins, an athlete with vision impairment, on Triathlon Canada's Paratriathlon team. As a guide, Beck was physically tethered to Christine in the swim and run, and was the pilot on the tandem bike.
Her role as a guide sparked a global journey and a lifelong commitment to fostering inclusivity in sports for individuals with disabilities. Beck's Paralympic experience has fuelled her mission to introduce aspiring athletes with disabilities to triathlon in Ontario. Founding the club Paratriathlon Ontario last year, she serves as the head coach, emphasizing the importance of inclusivity at the introductory level for all ages.
In addition to being a mom of twins, she is a dedicated, collaborative, and goal-oriented individual, Sasha contributes to the stability and strength of the organization she loves.
Being inducted into the Hall of Fame that evening are Paul Ante (Builder-Baseball), Danielle Everitt-Sinclair (Athlete-Fastball/Basketball), Pat teBoekhorst (Builder-Figure Skating) and Dave Clutchey (Builder-Swimming).
Further head table guests will be announced over the coming weeks as they are confirmed.
The induction ceremony will take place during the Kiwanis Sports Celebrity Dinner at the Italian Canadian Club at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are available online by visiting www.guelphsportshalloffame.com for $120 per adult and $50 for students 17 and younger.

Established in 1992 by the City of Guelph and the Kiwanis Club of Guelph, the Guelph Sports Hall of Fame is a non-profit organization that recognizes and honours the achievements of Guelph individuals and teams who have attained prominence and distinction in any field of sport, and who have made a major contribution to the development and advancement of sports in Guelph. Each year inductees are celebrated at the Kiwanis Sports Celebrity Dinner, and their achievements are permanently recorded in a public display at the Sleeman Centre.
The Guelph Sports Hall of Fame is managed by a Board of Directors and funded by the Kiwanis Club of Guelph through its annual induction dinner, and from grants by the City of Guelph.
