There will be some familiar names missing when the Guelph Storm opens training camp on Tuesday.
A total of 46 players will report for fitness testing before scrimmages start on Wednesday morning. First exhibition game is the following Sunday.
With a glut of potential overage possibilities, the Storm is only bringing four of those eligible into camp: Jake Karabela, Tommy Budnick, Max Namestnikov and Ryan McGuire.
A team can dress three overage players.
Overagers Brody Crane and Zander Veccia will not be in camp. General manager George Burnett said they remain Storm property as the team tries to find other options for them. Gavin Grundner is expected to play junior B with the Leamington Flyers.
Forwards Crane and Veccia were both acquired last season in separate trades. Grundner was a former Storm draft pick.
There are 27 forwards, 14 defencemen and five goaltenders in camp. Seventeen of those players saw action with the Storm last season.
