The Guelph Storm got a little older on the blueline Thursday, picking up 2005-born defenceman William Haley from the Peterborough Petes in exchange for a 13th round pick in the 2027 OHL draft.

The Cobourg native was originally drafted by the Mississauga Steelheads 13th overall in the 2022 U18 draft. In two seasons in the OHL, split between the Steelheads and the Petes, the 6'1", 185-pound Haley has five points and 33 penalty minutes in 47 regular season games.

Haley will join the rest of the Storm for the season-opener against the Owen Sound Attack at the Sleeman Centre on Friday night.
