BARRIE – Yuki Narita didn’t care that Barrie had won four straight games.

The Guelph Royals’ Japanese right-hander (3-0) twirled six shutout innings Thursday at Vintage Throne Stadium, scattering two hits around a walk and six strikeouts in the team’s 5-0 win.

Guelph (14-10) scored all of its runs in the seventh inning, highlighted by Blake Simpson’s bases-clearing double that preceded Garrett Takamatsu’s two-run single.
Hayden Jaco, Nolan Machibroda and Ryan Rijo had Barrie’s hits.

Adam Kahn (0-1) took the loss. He gave up two unearned runs on two hits with a strikeout over 1.1 innings of relief. Starter Cesar Rosado lasted 6.2 innings and gave up three runs on two hits with four walks and 11 strikeouts.

Saturday is the IBL's all-star game in Welland.
